Homotoxicology is a theory developed by Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg and forms the basis for a method of alternative medicine. He saw in it a combination of scientific medicine and homeopathy and described it as a modern homeopathy. The underlying assumptions contradict scientific evidence, independent studies that prove the effectiveness of the therapy do not exist.
In Germany, benefits of homotoxicology are therefore not compensated by the statutory health insurance.
